An online exhibit about Auschwitz in Farsi was uploaded to Yad Vashem’s Web site.
The Auschwitz Album, the only surviving visual evidence of the mass murder at the death camp, was uploaded Tuesday to the Yad Vashem Persian Web site. It includes background information about Auschwitz, 60 pictures and short explanations, aerial photos taken by the Allied Air Forces during World War II and survivor testimonies.
The Farsi Web site, launched in 2007, has had 100,000 visitors.
“We believe that making credible, comprehensive information about the Holocaust available to Persian speakers can contribute to the fight against Holocaust denial,” said Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev.
Shalev said in 2007, there were more than 7 million visits to yadvashem.org.
