Kuntar: Israel must disappear

Freed Lebanese terrorist Samir Kuntar said only the destruction of Israel would end Hezbollah attacks.

Kuntar said an Israeli withdrawal from disputed territory, such as Shebaa Farms, would not stop the attacks.

"The resistance will end only when the Zionist entity disappears," Kuntar, who was released from an Israeli prison in July as part of a deal to secure the remains of two abducted Israeli soldiers, told the French press agency.

The Israeli army pulled out of southern Lebanon in 2000, but Hezbollah says it continues to occupy the Shebaa Farms territory.

Kuntar was convicted in a 1979 attack in Nahariya that resulted in four deaths.

He said Israel is preparing to attack  Lebanon and "Israel is going to suffer great losses."

"The idea that Israel is an invincible, secure state has become a myth," he said.

Kuntar, who is considered a hero in Lebanon, also dispelled rumors that he may run for the Lebanese parliament next year.
