Ehud Olmert will visit Washington to shore up agreements on the peace process and military cooperation.

The visit later this month will likely be the Israeli prime minister’s last meeting with President Bush before the two leaders step down. Israel has scheduled new elections for Feb. 10, and Bush’s term ends in January.

Items likely to be on the meeting’s agenda, according to the Israeli daily Ha’aretz, include Israel’s peace processes with the Palestinians and Syria; Iran; future military aid and cooperation; and the cancellation of visa requirements for Israelis visiting the United States.

Meanwhile, Olmert is scheduled to be questioned for the ninth time Friday by investigators from the National Fraud Unit. Six investigations are open against the lame-duck leader.
