LONDON (JTA) — A group of Palestinian supporters vandalized the offices of a pro-Israel lobby in London.

The vandals entered the offices of British Israel Communication & Media in central London to disrupt the work done by the organization. They used loudspeakers to shout anti-Israel messages and scare staff working at the office before turning over desks, cutting telephone lines and throwing leaflets and fleeing.

Police who arrived at the office said they dealt with what was described as a “suspected package and made it safe.” Law enforcement is trying to find those responsible.

In a notice to the press, the group of Palestinians claimed that its aim was to “stop the propaganda war — disrupt Israel’s PR operation.”

BICOM was established in 2001 to work with the British media and explain Israel’s position.  British Jews finance the community-based organization.
