JERUSALEM (JTA) — A United Nations commission will examine Israeli damage to its properties during the Gaza military operation.

Members of the U.N. Security Council said that U.N. Secretary Ban-Ki Moon told the council Monday that he would announce the members of the panel and the scope of its investigation in the coming days.

Several U.N. schools and a warehouse were damaged during Israel’s three-week military operation in the Gaza Strip. Israel has maintained it did not target the structures but responded to rocket fire from inside or near the buildings.

Israel also is investigating the incidents.
