The Swiss-based Dorothea Gould Foundation has given $20,000 to a Hebrew immersion camp in Winnipeg to provide two-week scholarships to 17 immigrants.
Camp Massad, on Winnipeg Lake, will give the scholarships to children who have settled in the Winnipeg area within the past five years, according to the Canadian Jewish News.
Most of the Jewish immigrants to the area in recent years have been Russian-Israeli.
