UPDATED: We’ve heard from a source that Schumer has bowed out of the concert and requested his name to be taken off all materials advertising the concert, although we haven’t been able to confirm that with Schumer’s congressional office. But the website for the concert, www.israeldayconcert.com, no longer names Schumer as one of the guest speakers. It does, though, still have him in a photo at the top of the page.
Sen. Charles Schumer is marking Israel Day in New York later this month by attending a Central Park pro-settler, and anti-two-state solution, concert.
A flier for the May 31 event notes a "special appearance" by Schumer along with a bevy of other New York politicians, including Rep. Anthony Wiener (D), and proclaims in large letters "Jerusalem — United Forever" and "No! To A PA/Hamas Terrorist State!"
Elsewhere, the flier states "No! to the surrender of any part of Israel" and "No! to the expulsion of Jews from Judea and Samaria."
