NEW YORK (JTA) — Israeli defender Leo Krupnik signed with the Red Bulls of Major League Soccer.
Krupnik, 29, of Maccabi Haifa in the Israeli Premier League, must wait until Wednesday to be added to the team’s 24-man roster because of the international transfer window. The New Jersey-based Red Bulls were waiting for his international transfer certificate, the Associated Press reported.
Krupnik appeared in 30 matches last season for Maccabi Haifa and helped the club win its 11th league title.
