(JTA) — A thrown rock shattered the window of a Jewish community center in a southeastern Russian city.

It was the second such incident of vandalism this year to the Syktyvkar Jewish center, in the Korni Republic, according to a report posted Thursday on the Jewish.ru Web site, UCSJ: Union of Councils for Jews in the Former Soviet Union reported.

Police had classified the first incident as hooliganism rather than a hate crime, so the Jewish community did not report the latest incident to police, according to UCSJ.
