Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister (and former Israeli ambassador to the U.S.) Danny Ayalon says that the Goldstone Commission report should be treated like the UN resolution equating Zionism with racism. Here’s a statement with some of Ayalon’s remarks to American Jewish Committee leaders earlier today:
Israel Deputy Foreign Minister, Danny Ayalon, met with Jewish community leaders in New York today and called on them to join together and act with full force against the Goldstone Commission report.
In a speech to the heads of the American Jewish Committee, Ayalon said: "The Goldstone Report should be treated like the UN General Assembly Resolution 3379 equating Zionism with racism, thus we must mobilize and act with all force against the report in order to remove it".
"The Goldstone report is a dangerous attempt to harm the principle of self-defense by democratic states and provides legitimacy to terrorism," added the deputy minister
Later today he will meet with the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice and other senior members of the American administration, including members of Congress, where he intends to present them with a similar message about the Goldstone report.
