JERUSALEM (JTA) — Bedouins in Israel’s south protested against Jewish National Fund workers doing infrastructure work.
Fifteen Bedouins were arrested, and two Bedouins and a police officer were injured during the demonstration at Goral Junction near Beersheba in the Negev, on land which the Bedouins claim is privately owned.
The demonstrators attempted to stop the JNF workers from carrying out landscaping work, and assaulted the workers and police who were called to the area.
It is not the first time that violence has broken out at southern JNF sites, according to reports.
