JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel’s Air Force struck three smuggling tunnels along the Gaza-Egypt border.

The attack early Wednesday was carried out in response to Kassam rockets and a mortar shell fired into Israeli territory from Gaza on Tuesday and during Yom Kippur at the beginning of the week, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

All of the targets were hit and the Air Force jets returned to their bases safely, the IDF said. There have been no reports of injuries from Gaza.

"The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization responsible for maintaining the calm in the south of Israel and will respond to any attempt to disrupt this calm," the IDF said.
