Senior adviser to the president Valerie Jarrett will be the keynote speaker next week at the National Jewish Democratic Council’s annual Washington Conference. Jarrett’s appearance will be the first time she has publicly spoken in front of a Jewish organization — she has been working with Jewish groups over the last ten months as special assistant to the president for public engagement and intergovernmental affairs. Also expected at NJDC’s D.C. gathering on Oct. 20-21 are House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine, Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.), Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren, and Democratic strategist Paul Begala.
