ROME (JTA) — Italy and Israel have agreed to strengthen cooperation in agricultural science and technology.
Italy’s Agriculture Minister Luca Zaia and Shalom Simhon, Israel’s minister of agriculture and rural development, signed a joint declaration Tuesday that will lead to a formal accord between the two countries.
This accord will mandate bilateral research and development programs, as well as an operational program in agrarian science.
Simhon was in Rome attending the summit of the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization. No date was announced for signing the formal accord.
