JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israeli man threw his shoes at Israel’s Supreme Court president, hitting her in the face.
The force of the impact caused Dorit Beinish to fall from her chair during the attack Wednesday. She was removed from the courtroom and received medical attention.
Beinish returned to the courtroom shortly after the incident.
The court had been in the middle of a hearing on medical marijuana. The attack was unrelated to the hearing, according to reports.
The attacker, who was arrested immediately following the incident, shouted "traitor" and "you destroyed my life," as well as "you’re corrupt," during the attack, according to reports.
