BUDAPEST (JTA) — Israel is being honored at the Budapest International Book Festival.
Israeli Ambassador Aliza Bin-Noun and Israeli author Amos Oz took part Sunday in opening ceremonies for the three-day festival, Hungary’s most important literary and publishing event.
Budapest Mayor Gabor Demszky presented Oz with the festival’s grand prize.
Oz and other Israeli and Jewish authors, including JTA writer Ruth Ellen Gruber, are featured on the festival program, as well as a variety of books about Israel, concerts by Israeli musicians and photographic exhibits about Israel.
