(JTA) — The body of a murdered former yeshiva student was not found mutilated in a Kiev suburb, according to the editorial board of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Web site.

The editorial board of eajc.org, citing information it had acquired from the prosecutor’s office, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the police, as well as staff of the Jewish center and the yeshiva director, said the body of Aryeh Leib Misinzov, 25, was not discovered cut into pieces.

JTA was among the media outlets that had reported Sunday that the body was found mutilated.

The eajc.org editorial board said there is no information that would make it possible to assert either that the Misinzov was a neo-Nazi victim or that there was an anti-Semitic motive. The police are investigating; Misinzov may have been involved in organized crime, according to reports.

Reports also said that Misinzov was kidnapped by a gang member on Hitler’s birthday and murdered. The editorial board said that has not been confirmed.
