To the Editor:
It was shameful of JTA to carry the story "Woman says she was attacked for tefillin imprint." The story reported doesn’t have enough substance to deserve the international attention you give by carrying it. Also, the alleged prepetrator seems to be a lone nut job and didn’t act in concert with anybody.
You blow up the story just by deeming to carry it and report it as you did into a source to create hatred by all "liberal" Jews against all religious Jews. At this time, when attempts are being made to turn Israel into a pariah state in public opinion, what we need is Jewish unity.
