(JTA) — An Israeli soldier was lightly wounded and a Palestinian killed in a clash along the Gaza border.
An Israeli army force force intercepted two Palestinians trying to lay a bomb along the security fence on Gaza’s southern border Monday, according to the Jerusalem Post, and the Israelis opened fire. The Palestinians responded with sniper fire.
It was not clear who was responsible for attempting to plant the bomb.
Following the clash, two rockets exploded in the Eshkol area near Gaza. No injuries or damage were reported.
