(JTA) — Demonstrators from a Jewish organization protested an AIPAC fund-raiser in Louisville, Ky.
Tuesday night’s demonstration in front of the downtown 21c hotel was organized by the Louisville Jewish Voice for Peace, The Courier-Journal reported.
Protesters carried signs in support of the Palestinians and decrying support by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee for tough measures against Iran to slow its nuclear production, according to the newspaper.
Jewish Voice for Peace, according to its mission statement, "seeks an end to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem; security and self-determination for Israelis and Palestinians; a just solution for Palestinian refugees based on principles established in international law; an end to violence against civilians; and peace and justice for all peoples of the Middle East."
