(JTA) — Iran reportedly will put two of its citizens on trial for spying for Israel.

Iranian state radio quoted Tehran Prosecutor General Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi on Tuesday as saying that the arrested citizens "were linked to the Zionist regime’s intelligence services and provided them with information."

Dolatabadi also said that the men allegedly received money from Israel. The alleged spy’s names were not released, Reuters reported.

Earlier this month, Iran said it would put five Iranian citizens on trial for passing secrets about its space program and defense to its enemies, a likely reference to the United States and Israel.

Espionage is punishable by the death penalty in Iran.
