After reading several articles in the Oct. 29 issue, I truly wonder if liberal-leftist J Street Jews know why they are vilified by some in the pro-Israel Jewish community.
Do these J Street Jews have the same feelings towards their fellow Jews living under constant terrorist threat in Judea and Samaria as they have for the Arabs that desire to destroy the Jewish people?
Do they think the residential communities in Judea and Samaria are really the cause of Arab hatred towards Israel? Before 1967, when Israel captured Judea and Samaria in a defensive war, Arabs did not make peace with Israel, and these communities did not exist. Bottom line is the Arabs do not want peace — they want the Jews out of Israel.
Do they question why the Arabs continue to teach hatred in their classrooms and leave Israel’s name off their maps?
Abby Backer from J Street should realize that it is her actions that are the divisive ones (“Exclude Me At Your Own Peril,” Opinion, Oct. 29).
Liberal-leftist Jews should realize that their actions weaken Israel’s claim as a state and can lead to the destruction of Israel.
One last question: Do they really think deep down that a second state will lead to peace? I would bet that a second state would lead to more war and terrorism. The Arabs have proven time and time again they can’t be trusted.
