JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel’s Air Force struck two Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
The strikes early Sunday morning on a Hamas terror activity center in northern Gaza and a weapons manufacturing facility in central Gaza were in response to the firing of rockets from Gaza at southern Israeli communities over the weekend, the Israel Defense Forces spokesman said in a statement.
Two Palestinians were injured in the attack, according to Palestinian sources, Israeli media reported.
On Jan. 1, a woman required treatment for shock after a mortar landed near a kibbutz in the western Negev.
During 2010, over 235 Grad missiles, Kassam rockets and mortar shells were fired from Gaza into Israeli territory, the IDF reported.
