Khalikidan’s Passover Seder

An Ethiopian Israeli family in Netanya shows how they celebrate the Passover Seder in this English-dubbed video on Shalom Sesame, Israel’s version of Sesame Street.

Posting the video on interfaithfamily.com, writer Matt Hawkins suggests it as a good way to show kids how different communities celebrate Jewish holidays.

Like most of us, the family makes sure the house is tidy and has matzah ready to go before Passover starts. But how many of us burn the bread crumbs that we find as we clean, and use a candle to check for crumbs under the bed? And make our own matzah?

Check out Khalikidan asking the Four Questions, and her father reading from an Amharic text.
