I had heard, until last week, that a presidential Israel visit is not on the cards for the foreseeable future.
But then, until last week, I wouldn’t have thought that President Obama would headline AIPAC’s policy conference.
Now, Laura Rozen, Yahoo News’ "The Envoy," reports that Obama might attend Israeli President Shimon Peres’ "Presidents Conference" next month.
Obama is also seriously considering accepting the invitation from Israeli President Shimon Peres to attend Peres’ "Presidents’ Conference" in Jerusalem in June, several Jewish community leaders and Middle East experts who have consulted with the administration on the matter told the Envoy, although the visit has not been confirmed.
If Obama decides to accept the invitation, that would surely be the kind of crowd-pleasing announcement he would want to share at the pro-Israel group gathering.
