JERUSALEM (JTA) — Five rockets were fired from Gaza at southern Israeli communities over the weekend.

Three rockets struck late Saturday night, as well as one on Saturday morning and one the previous evening. No one was hurt in the attacks and there were no damages.

On Saturday morning, an Israeli airstrike hit a terrorist in the northern Gaza Strip who was preparing to launch a rocket at Israel, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement. The statement did not say what happened to the terrorist.

At least 10 rockets fired from Gaza struck southern Israel in the past week, and 16 since the beginning of the month, according to the IDF.

In response, Israel’s Air Force struck terrorist targets in Gaza five times in the past week. The IDF said targets included smuggling and infiltration tunnels used by terrorists.
