(JTA) — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called the Jewish state “a cancer cell.”
Speaking last Friday at Friday prayers on International al-Quds Day, an annual anti-Israel commemoration marked by the Iranian regime, Ahmadinejad urged Palestinians not to settle for a state beside Israel.
"Recognizing the Palestinian state is not the last goal. It is only one step forward toward liberating the whole of Palestine," Ahmadinejad told worshippers at Tehran University, according to The Jerusalem Post. "The Zionist regime is a center of microbes, a cancer cell, and if it exists in one iota of Palestine it will mobilize again and hurt everyone," he said.
Anti-Israel rallies were held across Iran. Iranian state television said that millions attended the events.
