(JTA) — Lauren Bush, granddaughter of the first President Bush and niece of the second, was married in a ceremony presided over by an ordained rabbi.
Bush and David Lauren, son of designer Ralph Lauren, were married Sunday at a ranch in Colorado owned by the Lauren family in a ceremony conducted by Angela Buchdahl, the senior cantor at Manhattan’s Central Synagogue and also an ordained rabbi, the New York Post reported. Born in Korea to a Jewish father and a Buddhist mother, Buchdahl is the first Asian American to be ordained as a rabbi.
Lauren Bush’s father, Neil, is the brother of former President George W. Bush, who was at the wedding with his family. Her grandparents, George H.W. and Barbara Bush, were unable to attend because of the altitude at the ranch, according to the Post.
Bush will now be known as Lauren Bush Lauren.
