NEW YORK (JTA) – Chabad has entered the world of online Jewish dating with three new websites and plans for ten more.

The sites, which were launched in Dallas, Boston and Miami over the past two months, aim to help young singles find love in their own towns, Haaretz reported.

The effort is inspired by the success of JMontreal.org, which was founded by Rabbi Yisroel Bernath, who has reportedly made over 250 introductions. Bernath said his system differs from competitor websites like JDate because matchmakers view suggestions made by an algorithm and then interview individuals before releasing their contact information. Matchmakers also offer members guidance throughout the dating process.

Bernath plans to roll out 50 sites worldwide, all of which will be connected in a global network so that Jewish singles have the choice of meeting someone at home or abroad.

β€œIt’s an extraordinarily efficient way for Chabad representatives to tap into their networks of young professionals and make Jewish marriages happen,” Bernath said.
