JERUSALEM (JTA) — Two Palestinians carrying large knives were arrested trying to infiltrate a Jewish settlement.

The Palestinians were arrested Monday while trying to enter Elon Moreh, next to Nablus, in the West Bank. They are believed to have been planning a stabbing attack in the community, security forces told Ynet.

The men, residents of the Balata refugee camp in Nablus, were refused asylum by residents of the Palestinian village of Azamut, where they fled with Israeli troops in pursuit following their thwarted infiltration attempt.

The attempt comes just days after the first yahrzeit for five members of the Fogel family who were murdered as they slept in their home in the West Bank community of Itamar.
