No remorse for Hagai Amir

To the Editor:

I hope everybody in the Jewish-American community who is concerned for Israel’s future — not just as a Jewish country but also as a democratic country — will join decent people in Israel who condemned Hagai Amir for his refusal to express remorse for helping his brother kill the State of Israel’s democratically elected prime minister.

Now that he is out of prison, I fear that he is going to continue to attack people in Israel that he doesn’t like: Arabs, left-wingers, gays, labor immigrants. He is not rehabilitated, and never will be, as long as he stands behind his involvement in the prime minister’s death.
