NEW YORK (JTA) — Longtime Jewish journalist Neil Rubin has joined JTA as an associate editor.
Before joining JTA, Rubin served as senior editor of the Baltimore Jewish Times, a role he held since 1998. Prior to that he was the editor of the Atlanta Jewish Times for 7 1/2 years.
In his new role at JTA, Rubin will help coordinate JTA’s expanded news coverage.
"We’re very excited to have Neil aboard," JTA managing editor Uriel Heilman said. "His keen eye for news, impressive journalistic experience and wealth of knowledge about the Jewish world will help JTA better tell the stories of the Jewish people."
Rubin holds a doctorate from Towson University and has served on the executive board of the American Jewish Press Association.
"Neil brings a perfect mix of understanding the major national and international Jewish issues of the day," said Ami Eden, JTA’s CEO and editor in chief. "At the same time, he also understands what local Jewish newspapers and local Jewish communities need from us."
JTA has documented Jewish history in real-time for over a century. Keep our journalism strong by joining us in supporting independent, award-winning reporting.
