JERUSALEM (JTA) — Thousands of Israelis demonstrated in three major cities on Saturday calling for social justice.

Crowd estimated for the Tel Aviv rally ranged from 4,000 to 7,000. Some protesters banged and pots and pans; others carried signs protesting racism in the wake of violent protests against African migrants in the city.

The protests were held under the banner “All of the country out in the streets — bringing back hope and justice.”

Other large protests took place in Jerusalem and Haifa.

Last month, thousands of Israelis participated in social justice rallies across the country, the largest in Tel Aviv.
