JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israeli bus transporting soldiers near the border with Egypt was fired on from the Sinai.

The bus was damaged but no one was injured in Sunday’s attack, according to reports.

The attack came hours after the pipeline meant to carry gas to Israel from Egypt’s Sinai was blown up for the 15th time since the February 2011 ouster of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Several attacks on Israel have emanated from the Sinai in the last year, including last August when nine Israelis were killed when the bus they were riding in was attacked.

Israel is building a wall on the border with Egypt to keep out both illegal migrants and terrorists.
