(JTA) — Two Israelis who have lived in the United States for 30 years were killed in a shooting attack in Minneapolis.
The Sept. 27 shooting took place at a signage manufacturing company owned by Reuven Rahamim, 61, who was killed in the attack. Another Israeli, Rami Cooks, an employee of the company, was killed, as were two other employees and a UPS driver.
Police said the shooter, who shot himself dead after the attack, had been fired as an employee of the company a few hours before the attack.
Rahamim, who fought in the Yom Kippur War in 1973, moved to the United States in the mid-1970s and worked as a laborer. He opened a signmaking company, Accent Signage Systems, which earns about $5 million a year and does business in 36 countries, in the mid-’80s. He was active in Minneapolis’ Jewish community, according to Ynet.
