JERUSALEM (JTA) — The Lebanese Army defused two rockets aimed at northern Israel.
The Grad rockets, located in southern Lebanon near the border with Israel, were believed to have been placed there since Israel’s Operation Pillar of Defense against Gaza began six days ago, according to a Reuters report that cited unnamed sources.
They were located less than a mile from an Israeli military site on Mount Hermon in the Golan Heights.
Several Palestinian groups operate in southern Lebanon, though the border has been quiet in recent years. The Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah is also based in Lebanon.
