JERUSALEM (JTA) — Supporters of the extreme rightist party Strong Israel demonstrated in an Arab-Israeli village.

The presence of dozens of rightists on Tuesday touched off a counter protest in which hundreds of residents of the northern Israeli village of Musmus flooded its front gate  calling for the demonstrators to leave.

Villagers had called a one-day strike to protest the rightists’ announced visit.

The Strong Israel members said they were visiting the village to view what they called illegal construction, Ynet reported.

The party’s platform includes annexing all of the West Bank and canceling the Oslo Accords. Knesset members Aryeh Eldad and Michael Ben-Ari lead its candidates’ list.
