Reading about Camp Ramah reminded me of another camp that existed until the 1980s (“To Revitalize Conservative Jewry, Build On Camp Ramah,” Opinion, Feb. 1).
Camp Massad was a Modern Orthodox camp that embraced kids from the entire spectrum of denominations. It was a Hebrew-speaking camp where even sports were played in Hebrew. Its Zionistic nature promoted a love of Eretz Yisrael that is unparalleled by today’s standard.
I hope that Camp Ramah is following a similar model and becomes very successful.
