WASHINGTON (JTA) – The former head of Empire Kosher Poultry and a freelance writer are the newest members of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.
Greg Rosenbaum and Diana Shaw Clark were appointed Tuesday by President Obama.
Rosenbaum, founder and president of Palisades Associates Inc. in Bethesda, Md., was CEO of Empire from 2006 to 2012. He is co-chair of the Jewish American Heritage Month Foundation and a director of the National Jewish Democratic Council.
He was named Humanitarian of the Year by New York’s Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty in 2011, and received a Human Rights Award from the Jewish Labor Committee.
Shaw Clark, of Washington, is the principal organizer of the Drop-In Center for Destitute Asylum Seekers, a project of the West London Synagogue of British Jews. She also has worked as a consultant for film and television production companies, authored a food column in the Los Angeles Times, and published cookbooks, advice books and novels for young adults.
Shaw Clark was a fundraiser for Obama during his 2012 reelection campaign, according to Politico.
