(JTA) — Armed men in the Sinai took two tourists captive, including an Israeli.
Israeli and Arabic media outlets reported Friday that armed Bedouins in a car rammed another car on the road from Taba, the Egyptian city on the Egyptian-Israeli border, to Dahab, a Red Sea resort, and captured at least two tourists at gunpoint.
Some reports have identified one of the tourists as an Arab Israeli and the other as a Norwegian; others have said that both tourists are Israeli.
Security in the Sinai has deteriorated since the 2011 coup in Egypt that deposed President Hosni Mubarak.
