(JTA) — Heavy rains did not keep Israelis from celebrating Independence Day.
Israel Radio reported Tuesday that roads were packed with celebrants of the 65th anniversary of Israel’s founding, and that some military museums were so packed with visitors that some were turned away.
Police estimated that a million people had ventured to picnic grounds and outdoor areas to celebrate.
