WASHINGTON (JTA) — Top U.S. security officials reportedly visited Israel recently.
Reuters on Monday quoted an Israeli security source as saying that the chiefs of the FBI and the National Security Agency both quietly visited Israel recently. Additionally, according to Israeli media, a joint Israel-U.S.-Italy-Greece air combat exercise over the weekend brought the U.S. Air Force chief to the region.
The Obama administration is emphasizing its close security relationship with Israel in part to show that a rift over how best to keep Iran from becoming a nuclear power has not adversely affected ties with the Jewish state.
