Gitit Paz brings up an area that has been an extremely emotional issue for me (“The Fate Of A Mamzer,” Nov. 22).
I cannot believe that the Jewish people can reject someone due to the accident of birth, or even the adult responsible for this birth.
I always feel that each of us is responsible for how the Jewish people are judged on the matter of any issue in which we are viewed. Think of how those who look at us would judge the Jewish people if it were known that newborns, and their mothers, were to be rejected from the community due to this circumstance.
