JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli troops killed two Palestinians during separate West Bank clashes within a few hours of each other.
On Thursday morning, an elite Israeli army force entering Kalkilyah to arrest a terror cell was fired upon. In the return of fire, Saleh Yassin, 28, a member of the Palestinian general intelligence service, was killed.
No Israeli soldiers were injured in the incident.
Late Wednesday, a 22-year-old Palestinian man was killed and four were wounded in Jenin during clashes over an operation by Israeli police to arrest a member of Islamic Jihad.
Police said Jenin residents sparked the clash by firing on and throwing firebombs at the soldiers. The wanted terrorist fled the scene.
