As the official airline of the 2014 Jerusalem International Marathon, EL AL Israel Airlines is offering special fares to thousands of people travelling from around the world who will participate.

In addition to being athletically challenging, participants will witness 3,000 years of history while running through the ancient city and viewing historical, architectural and religious sites against the background of Jerusalem’s unique landscape.
Running has become one of the most popular sports in Israel, thanks to comfortable weather year round. The 2013 Jerusalem Marathon hosted more than 20,000 runners from 54 countries. In 2014, Israel is hosting eight big races: three marathons, four half-marathons and an Ironman triathlon.
Runners taking part in the Jerusalem Marathon can utilize some in-flight exercise tips called, “Flying Fit,” which was developed by Danny Musico, who is known for training celebrities such as Tobey Maguire, Jessica Simpson and Kevin Connolly.
- Stretch your neck by keeping your chin close to your throat and tilting your head forward. Roll your head from one shoulder to the other, but avoid rotating it backward.
- Raise legs as high as you can. Hold for five seconds. Repeat 10 times.
- Stretch the glut and lower-back muscles by crossing one leg over the other as far as possible. Repeat 10 times.
- Find a standing spot on the plane. With feet shoulder-width apart, step forward and lower one knee to the ground. Repeat six times. Change legs. Repeat six times.
