Your editorial, “Kerry Adds Fuel to BDS Fire” (Feb. 7), rather than addressing the issue, shoots the proverbial messenger. Secretary of State Kerry was stating the obvious, that if Israel is seen as failing to reach a peace agreement with the Palestinians while continuing to expand settler housing in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, viewed by most of the world as illegal, this would fuel an expanding economic boycott against Israel. Rather than chastising Kerry, who opposes BDS, you should address recalcitrance within Israel’s ruling coalition, which includes parties and individuals who oppose the very idea of a demilitarized Palestinian state alongside Israel.
