JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Palestinian teenager attempting to cut through the security fence near Hebron was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers.
Youssef Shawamra, 15, was killed Wednesday while trying to cross the fence, the Palestinian Maan news agency reported.
The soldiers had identified three Palestinians attempting to sabotage the fence and called on them to move away before opening fire, the Israel Defense Forces told the French news agency AFP.
Maan reported that troops did not warn the teen before they shot him and that his body remains with the IDF.
