JERUSALEM (JTA) — The Jewish representative in Iran’s Parliament condemned Israel’s military actions in Gaza, comparing it to the actions of Nazi Germany.

“The Zionist regime’s crimes are reminiscent of the actions taken by the German Nazis during the first and second World Wars,” Dr. Siamak Moreh Sedgh, who represents the Jewish minority, told the semi-official Iranian FARS news agency on Monday.

Sedgh, 50, also serves as director of the Tehran Jewish Committee and has been in the Parliament for two years. He is the only Jewish member of Parliament and has criticized Israel on several occasions.

The Parliament’s vice speaker, Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabifard, on Tuesday also condemned Israel’s strikes on Gaza, saying, “The hatred of the Americans and criminal Zionists has caused the people of Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Bahrain and Afghanistan to live in difficult situations.”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry called on “friends of Palestine” to prosecute “the Zionist criminals” in international tribunals and legal bodies.
