(JTA) — Coca-Cola will open its first-ever plant in the Gaza Strip in 2015.
Palestinians imported several truckloads of machinery for the plant Monday through an Israel border crossing, Reuters reported.
The plant will employ 360 Palestinians by 2016 and will hire more employees later, the director general of the Palestinian National Beverage Company — which already has a plant in the West Bank — told Reuters.
Israel approved the plant before its war with Hamas in Gaza this summer.
Gaza already has a Pepsi plant.
