(JTA) — A terror attack in Rishon Letzion last week led one of its victim to discover and treat a potentially life-threatening tumor.
Daniel Cohen, who was one of three people stabbed and wounded by a Palestinian assailant at the city’s central bus station Nov. 2, said Wednesday that while his wounds were being treated in the hospital, doctors found a tumor in his intestines, the Times of Israel reported.
A kashrut supervisor, Cohen, 31, said that treating the multiple stab wounds in his upper body involved four-hour surgery at Rishon Letzion’s Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, during which his spleen and part of his liver were removed.
“As they were treating these organs, they found a growth on my intestine that I didn’t know I had,” Cohen said. “They cut it out and sewed what they needed to.”
“If they wouldn’t have removed it, it could have gotten worse,” he said, adding, “The terror attack saved my life.”
